Welcome to the Centre for the Study of Services to Children and Families at UBC!
The Centre for the Study of Services to Children and Families (CSSCF) was originally established in 2011 by Dr. Susan J. Wells, UBC-Okanagan professor emerita, with a Canadian Foundation for Innovation Infrastructure grant. Now directed by Dr. Sarah Dow-Fleisner, Associate Professor of Social Work at UBC-Okanagan, and Dr. Barbara Lee, Assistant Professor of Social Work at UBC-Vancouver, the CSSCF continues to advance research related to the services for children and families and contribute to evidence-based practices and policies in British Columbia and beyond.
Our Mission
To identify and support the development of evidence-informed policies, programs, and services aimed at improving the lives of children, youth, and families from diverse social contexts.
Our Primary Aims
We acknowledge that the CSSCF is situated on the unceded and ancestral lands of the Syilx (Okanagan) Peoples and the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Peoples.
