The Canadian Foundation for Innovation was established with a  five-year infrastructure grant to establish the Centre. Funding for projects has come from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, provincial sources, and appropriate foundation funding. The Centre is contributing to research for evidence-based practice and is participating in training the next generation of researchers through graduate and undergraduate research assistant funding.
